The IT Systems Engineer plays a critical role in supporting and advancing the organization’s infrastructure, networking, and eDiscovery application environments. This highly versatile position demands broad technical expertise across servers, networking, databases, cloud, and storage. As part of the Infrastructure team, the Systems Engineer acts as a key contributor in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing IT systems to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
 
 This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and can adapt to a variety of technical challenges. The Systems Engineer works closely with IT Support, Development, Project Management, and customers (internal and external) to provide solutions, resolve issues, and deliver exceptional service. Ideal candidates will be located in Atlanta, GA and willing to work in-office 1-2 days per week.

 Compensation

$90,000.00 - $160,000.00/yr pending relevant experience and performance during interview process. Note: The I, II, III levels reflect flexibility based on experience, responsibility, and technical proficiency. Candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

The role will follow standard business hours (9-5) and include participation in an after-hours on-call rotation. This is a hybrid position. Ability to travel to the data center as needed and participation in the rotating on-call schedule, which may include nights and weekends is required. Ideal candidates will be located in Atlanta, GA and willing to work in-office 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support and administration for servers, networks, databases, cloud infrastructure, and storage environments
• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless solutions
• Manage and support Cisco networking equipment and cloud environments (AWS/Azure), including configuration, updates, and upgrades
• Monitor and ensure uptime and performance for converged server infrastructure, including VMware, Azure, AWS, and enterprise storage platforms
• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, including backups, restores, user access, performance tuning, and security
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues involving OS, virtualization, cloud services, networking, databases (MSSQL Server), VPNs, and Microsoft 365
• Participate in risk assessments, vulnerability scans, patching, and security-related projects
• Mentor and cross-train IT team members, sharing knowledge across all supported technologies
• Collaborate closely with other IT teams and Project Management to resolve incidents, fulfill requests, and deliver project work
• Continuously review and improve operational processes and workflows, with a focus on automation and efficiency
• Contribute to the design and implementation of environment provisioning, system builds, and configuration management
• Support SAN/NAS storage environments, including monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization
• Serve as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and major incidents
• Ensure accurate documentation of environments, processes, incidents, and resolutions
• Participate in Scrum team activities to plan and execute on strategic initiatives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, and/or systems administration roles
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration, networking protocols, VMware, and Microsoft 365
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar) to automate tasks and processes
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms and workflows.
• Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence).
• Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, AWS/Azure).
• Experience supporting environments in regulated or compliance-driven industries.
