Responsibilities:

The IT Security Intern is an integral part of the Panasonic North America (PNA) Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) team. In coordination with security monitoring tools, and other SOC team members, you will provide constant vigilance against cyber incidents and system issues. You will also be in on the ground floor of building a next-generation Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) for Panasonic North America.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor computer networks for security issues
• Investigate security breaches and other information security incidents.
• Observe and interact with software used to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
• Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
• Work with security team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
• Work with resolver IT Teams to fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high security standard.
• Stay current on IT security trends and news.
• Assist with greater Security team in developing company-wide best practices for IT security.
• Help colleagues understand information security and its importance for the business.
• Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management
• Design step by step operating procedure documents for everyday activities

Program Requirement(s): 

• Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree throughout the entirety of the internship
• Must be able to work the entirety of the summer program which runs from May 19, 2025 - August 8, 2025

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or similar discipline.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Creative, self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and problem-solving mentality
• Excellent organizational and writing skills
• Strong technical, organizational and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain relationships

Hourly Range: $17-$38
 
The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
